EVEN though she had known her father for just a short span of time, it was worth everything after seeing his military burial yesterday.

Corporal Taniela Rogoiruwai's daughter, Letila Boila, 14, could not hold back her tears when her father's casket was carried out of the church yesterday.

Ms Boila is Cpl Rogoiruwai's daughter from a relationship before he joined the British Army in 2000.

"The last time that I saw my father was when he came in 2008 to take his wife and son back to England and that was the last time we had spoken to each other," she said.

"He called me and asked me how I was and if everything was all right and I said 'yes' and we spoke for a little longer."

ROY Krishna is the latest inclusion in the 20-member national Futsal squad for the upcoming 2010 Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Futsal Championship.

The New Zealand-based player, who is in the country since the Inter District Championship (IDC) tournament last year, is expected to showcase his skills at the Vodafone Arena in Suva from August 8-14.

The national striker has never represented the country in Futsal and is looking at a glorious debut in the Oceania Championship. "I have been playing Futsal in the league competitions but have never played in the national side," Krishna said.

"I played in the national Futsal league competition here in Suva and that's where I assume the selectors show me."

The atmosphere was filled withcuriosity, suspense and excitementas the pageant kicked offat 8p.m.Not only were the guests spectators in the FANA pageant, they were also judges. The fate of Miss Fiji USA Beauty Queen was not in the hands of FANA, but in the voting power of the pageant guests.
